A TRIO of intrepid cyclists have raised over £2500 for charity after pedalling their way from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
Matt Hacker, Jamie Sharman, both of Lymm, and Neil Shand, of Comberbach, took on the impressive 915-mile feat, which took only eight days to complete, in a bid to raise funds for the NW Air Ambulance Service and Headway, the Brain Injury Association.
Six hundred pounds alone were donated to the cyclists by Lymm and District Round Table. Matt, a former member himself, said: “When we first set out on the challenge we never dreamed we’d raise as much as we did. We’ve been amazed by people’s generosity, most notably Lymm Round Table who pitched in with such a substantial amount.
“We’re also really grateful for the support we received along the way, with complete strangers willing us along and digging into their pockets to make a donation.’’
The cyclists are also members of North Cheshire Clarion Cycling Club, based in Warrington. If you are interested in developing your cycling at any age or discipline, then why not visit www.northcheshireclarion.co.uk
