Duck Race 2011

CHARITY duck racing is once again on the bill this Easter Monday (April 25th) thanks to the Lymm and District Round Table.

The popular annual event takes place in Lymm village, with the race beginning at 12.30pm. A wide range of food stalls and children’s entertainment will be open from 10.30am.

“We raised £3,000 for charity and local causes last year so the pressure’s on to make this the best Duck Race ever,” said Dave Healey, organiser and Round Table member. “We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a good day weather-wise and we encourage everyone from Lymm and beyond to come down and support this great community event.”

Racing ducks are on sale by The Cross, Lymm, on the four Saturdays preceding Easter Monday and you can also buy them on the day. Normal ducks are priced at £1, with corporate ducks £30 and super ducks £60. The first duck over the line receives £100, second place £50 and third £25.

Alternatively,  all types of ducks can be bought online at www.lymmduckrace.co.uk

Event sponsors and contributors are also welcome. So if you have a local business and want to gain some publicity, or have an idea for running a stall, then contact Dave on 07883 511721.
