❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is the event accessible?
Yes. We provide a wheelchair‑friendly viewing area with excellent sightlines. Please speak to a steward on arrival if you need assistance.
Are toilets available?
Yes. We provide several portable toilets (portaloos) on site for public use throughout the event. Stewards can direct you to the nearest facilities once you’re inside the playground area.
Can I bring sparklers?
No. Sparklers are not permitted anywhere on the site for safety reasons.
Can I bring alcohol?
No. Alcohol cannot be brought into the event. Alcohol will be available for purchase from one of the traders.
Are the fireworks loud?
The Kids’ Quiet Display at 6:45pm uses lower‑noise fireworks designed to be more comfortable for younger children and anyone who prefers a gentler experience.
The Main Display at 8pm does include some louder fireworks — it’s a full professional show, and ultimately fireworks do go bang. If you or your children are sensitive to loud noises, we recommend attending the earlier quiet display and bringing ear defenders for extra comfort.
Can I bring my dog?
We recommend not bringing dogs due to loud noises, crowds, and safety considerations. If you do bring a dog, it must be kept on a lead at all times.
Are there food and drink stalls?
Yes. We have a selection of catering stalls offering hot food, drinks, and treats throughout the evening.
Are tickets available on the gate?
Tickets usually sell out in advance and the event has a strict maximum capacity limit, so we strongly recommend buying online as soon as they become available. A limited amount of tickets may be resold on the gate if tickets guests leave early.
Is the event suitable for young children?
Absolutely. We run a quieter, less noisy display at 6:45pm designed specifically for younger children or anyone who prefers a gentler experience. There are also fairground rides aimed at young children.
What happens if it rains?
The event goes ahead if it rains, so please dress appropriately. In the event of extreme adverse weather preventing the launch of fireworks, the event may be cancelled at short notice and tickets holders refunded.
Will there be a bonfire?
No — because the event is held on primary school grounds, we’re not able to include a bonfire. Instead, we run two fireworks displays: a quieter children’s display at 6:45pm, followed by the full main display at 8:00pm. This format keeps the event safe, family‑friendly, and suitable for the school environment.
Is first aid available at the event?
Yes. Professional first aid cover is provided on site by St John Ambulance throughout the event. Their trained team is equipped to deal with any medical needs, and stewards can quickly direct you to them if assistance is required.
What about the horses in the field next to the event?
We are aware of the horses in the neighbouring field and take their welfare seriously. Every year, we inform the landowner well in advance of the event so they can make any arrangements they feel are appropriate. The owner is fully aware of the timings and nature of the fireworks display.
What charitable causes does the event support?
Lymm Roundtable is a registered charity that raises around £25,000 for local charitable causes each year from its three major events: Lymm Duck Race, Lymm Beer Festival, Lymm Charity Fireworks.
